Multi-million pound international contract wins for conveyer firm

mardi, 8 décembre 2009

Clyde Process Solutions (CPS), the global pneumatic conveying and air filtration systems provider, has added another two international contracts to its string of recent wins.

The contracts, which are collectively worth £1.9m, are from two separate Asian-based steel producers.

Doncaster-based CPS will supply a China-based steel producer with a pneumatic conveying system that will transport quicklime within their production facility.

Quicklime, more commonly known as lime, is used by the steel industry as a raw material to purify steel. The CPS pneumatic conveying system will transport quicklime over a distance of one mile, which the directors believe is a world leading distance for this raw material using pneumatic conveying technology.

The other order secured by CPS will see the group supply a steel producer based in Taiwan with a pneumatic injection system that will inject pulverized coal into its blast furnace.

Commenting on these orders Alex Stewart, chief executive of CPS, said: "We are pleased to maintain the sales conversion momentum we have built in recent weeks.

"Both contracts have been secured from existing customers, which is testament to the strong performance of our technologies once deployed within our customers' production processes.

Mr Stewart said that both contracts were in line with management expectations.

"Our focus for the remainder of this financial year is to continue to build on the strong progress made in securing orders across all our key customer markets," he added.

Last month CPS announced it had won a £1.1m order with one of the world's leading cement producers for one of its plants in Eastern Europe.

CPS said it believed the order with the unnamed company would provide a catalyst for future growth, especially in the cement industry.
