Leeds vets boosted by £75,000 loan

A Leeds-based veterinary centre has been given a £75,000 loan from Lloyds TSB Commercial, an investment which is set to increase capacity by 15%.
The Aire Veterinary Centre, almost 70 years old, offers consultations, acupuncture, surgery and radiography to almost 3,000 animals a year.
Lab facilities, surgery and laundry equipment, flooring and lighting will be improved using the funds, while a new operating theatre will be created and piped anaesthetic gases provided.
Turnover is up at the centre, with a boost following initial renovation at the facility in 2006.
Owner Nathalie Declunder, who bought up the firm in 2001, told the Business Desk: "Completing the renovation work was a large project and has taken a number of years, but it's fantastic to finally show our customers the full range of facilities on offer and the results of all our hard work.
"Although not visible to our customers on a day-to-day basis, the changed layout at the back of the centre is a real boost to the practice and will enable us to continue to offer the highest standards of care to the animals we treat."
