Plans to promote Leeds City Region
lundi, 15 mars 2010
Preparations are being made by Yorkshire local authorities to promote Leeds City Region at the world's largest property fair.
Representaitives from Leeds, Wakefield, Kirklees, Calderdale and Bradford councils are flying to Cannes in the south of France and working together to sell the benefits of not just one city, but the wider city region while at the annual Marché International des Professionnels d'Immobilier (MIPIM).
Public sector agencies hope the event will lead to inward investors and they will be trying to catch the eye of property consultants, financiers, surveyors and developers who will be attending.
A series of key announcements are expected to be made by the Leeds City Region about large-scale property developments, such as for the Tower Works in Holbeck in Leeds, the Leeds Arena, the City Park and Learning Quarter in Bradford, plans for Halifax town centre regeneration and the new Hepworth Art Gallery in Wakefield.
The chief executive of Manchester City Council, Sir Howard Bernstein, will be among big names from Yorkshire local authorities and the property sector to debate the merits of city regions, when the Leeds City Region hosts a major breakfast on Wednesday.
