Six Yorkshire firms, including Skipton-based pram maker Silver Cross and Leeds-based energy drink maker Boost Drinks, have made it into a leading guide to Britain's fastest growing private companies.
Ranked at 36 in the latest Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100, Silver Cross made it on to the league table for the third year running.
The manufacturer, which has been making prams since 1877, is a favourite among the royal family and many celebrity mothers, including actress Nicole Kidman.
Silver Cross only recently began selling its products directly to consumers via its website, with the firm poised to supply shops in Switzerland, Japan, America and Germany.
Sales have grown dramatically, up from £2.3 million in 2005 to £17.5 million in 2008.
Fellow Yorkshire firm Boost Drinks, which aims to offer a cheaper alternative to energy drinks such as Red Bull, was ranked 44th. Founded by Simon Gray in 2001, the firm now annually sells around 30 million beverages.
In 2009, the company was the official energy drink for Glastonbury, and saw sales growing 88% a year from £1.5 million in 2005 to £9.7 million in 2008.
Universal Recycling - Mexborough metal waste recyclers - made its debut ranked at 65, while Scunthorpe cash and carry AM PM were 32nd. Huddersfield-based heating products retailer Stores Direct entered at 45.
Harrogate-based Interim Partners was ranked 26 while Leeds care group Maria Mallaband Care Group settled at 89.
