Yorkshire hails healthcare Oscars

Innovation, achievements and international success in Yorkshire and Humber`s healthcare technologies sector have been hailed with industry Oscars.
The Xiros-sponsored Medilink Yorkshire and Humber Innovation Day and Healthcare Business Awards were attended by 200 of the region`s healthcare specialists at The Royal Armouries in Leeds.
Said Medilink boss Kevin Kiely: "The show has highlighted the quality of innovation within the region's health technology sector, which is key if we are to come out of recession as global competitors."

:: UDL Innovation Award - Leeds-based Brandon Medical, runners-up AGA Healthcare and Tissuemed.
:: UK Trade and Investment Export Achievement Award - Skipton-based Trio Healthcare, runners-up Downs Surgical and Tissumed.
:: Eversheds Growth in Sector Award - Huddersfield's Paxman Coolers, runners-up Single Use Surgical and Trio Healthcare.
:: Yorkshire Bank Start-Up Award - Sheffield-based Intervene, runners-up Imagel and Neotherix.
:: Jonathan Lee Recruitment Partnership with the NHS Award - Halifax-based Independent Care Products, runners-up Leeds Reproductive Bioscience and Medcom.
:: Medilink Beacon Award: Sir Chris O'Donnell, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the healthcare-technologies sector.
